Short answer

Roof Experts, LLC repairs and replaces roofs in Kennedale, inspects storm damage for free and documents losses for insurance claims. Kennedale borders southwest Arlington, just south of our office on Little Road. That makes it one of the closest cities we serve, so follow-up visits after the job are easy to arrange.

Our closest neighbor

Kennedale sits on the southwest edge of Arlington, between Arlington and Fort Worth in southeast Tarrant County. Our office on Little Road is just to the north, and US-287 runs through the city. For us that means short drives, and for Kennedale homeowners it means the company that installed the roof is nearby when anything needs attention.

That closeness matters most after the job is finished. Our workmanship is covered by a 5-year labor warranty, and a warranty is only as useful as the company standing behind it, which is easier to rely on when that company is a short drive away. If a flashing detail needs adjusting or a storm tests the new roof, we are a few minutes away.

The 2012 tornado began in Kennedale

On April 3, 2012, a tornado touched down in Kennedale east of North Little Road and north of Swiney Hiett Road, according to the National Weather Service. It moved north-northeast, crossed US-287 and I-20, and ended just east of Lake Arlington in Arlington.

Survey crews found home damage north of Sublett Road on Fawn Meadow Trail. The Weather Service rated the tornado EF-2, with winds estimated up to 135 mph, along a path about 4.6 miles long and up to 150 yards wide. Roof damage rated EF-1 was found near US-287, about 1.3 miles south of I-20.

Tornadoes like that are rare. The more common threats to Kennedale roofs are the spring hail and straight-line wind that regularly cross Tarrant County. Both can damage a roof without leaving anything visible from the ground, so we recommend an inspection after any storm with hail or strong gusts. See roof storm damage for what we check.

Permits and the paperwork

Kennedale issues its own building permits, separate from Arlington’s, so a roof here doesn’t follow the Arlington rules even though our office is next door. Neighboring cities differ more than most homeowners expect. We confirm what Kennedale requires for your project before scheduling it.

For comparison, Arlington exempts small repairs, Fort Worth exempts some shingle-only jobs, and Grand Prairie permits every roof job.

On every Kennedale inspection we check the shingles slope by slope, the flashing at walls, chimneys and pipes, the soft metals that show hail plainly, and the attic for stains or damp decking. You get the photos either way, including when we find nothing that needs fixing.

If you are filing an insurance claim, we provide dated photos and a written scope, and we can meet your adjuster at the roof. Our insurance claims page explains the Texas process.

FAQ

Questions from Kennedale homeowners

How close is your office to Kennedale?

Very close. Our only office is at 4275 Little Rd #202 in southwest Arlington, and Kennedale is just to the south. For a Kennedale homeowner, that means the company that installed the roof is nearby if anything needs a second look.

Did the 2012 tornado start in Kennedale?

Yes. The National Weather Service says the April 3, 2012 EF-2 tornado began in Kennedale east of North Little Road and north of Swiney Hiett Road, then crossed US-287 and I-20 into Arlington and ended near Lake Arlington.

Does Kennedale follow Arlington's permit rules?

No. Kennedale is its own city with its own building permits and inspections, separate from Arlington's. We confirm Kennedale's requirements for your address and scope before the work is scheduled.

How can I tell if a storm damaged my Kennedale roof?

Check for dented vents and gutters, granules piling up at downspouts, shingles lying in the yard and new stains on ceilings. Hail and wind damage often leave nothing visible from the ground, so a free inspection on the roof is the reliable way to know.

Do you help with storm insurance claims in Kennedale?

Yes. We document storm damage with dated photos, can meet your adjuster at the roof and explain the Texas claim process. We are not a public adjuster, and we never waive or pay a deductible.
