How Colleyville handles a re-roof
Colleyville’s Building Inspections department requires a permit on re-roof projects, and contractors register with the city through its online portal before they can apply. What sets Colleyville apart is the inspection: since October 1, 2023, the city has offered virtual inspections for reroofs and a handful of other common permit types.
The city’s Building Inspections page lists reroofs alongside HVAC replacements, water heaters, under-slab repairs and irrigation as eligible for the virtual inspection program, and it links a Final Roof Inspection Waiver. In practice, that can mean the final inspection is completed from documentation rather than a visit, so the job closes without anyone waiting at home. We tell you at the estimate which route your job will take.
Dumpsters and the city’s waste franchise
Colleyville has a franchise agreement for commercial waste containers. According to the city, if a roofing job uses a dumpster, it must be contracted through Community Waste Disposal. That is easy for an out-of-town crew to miss, and it is the kind of detail that leads to a phone call from the city midway through a job.
We plan Colleyville jobs around the city’s franchise hauler from the start and agree with you where the container will sit, so it does the least harm to your driveway and landscaping. A tear-off produces a lot of heavy debris, and where the dumpster sits affects how cleanly the job runs and how quickly the site is cleared afterward.
Larger homes, larger roofs
Many Colleyville homes sit on generous lots with large, multi-plane roofs. Those roofs have more valleys, more wall junctions and more flashing than a typical tract house, and that is where both the labor and the leak risk concentrate. We measure in person so the estimate reflects them.
Replacement is also the moment to decide what the roof should be for its next life. We price a standard architectural shingle against a Class 4 impact-resistant shingle, and on some homes against metal roofing. If your neighborhood has an HOA, we include the manufacturer, product line and color in writing so the approval can go in right away. For roofs with useful life left, we quote a repair instead of a replacement.
Storm damage in northeast Tarrant County
Colleyville takes spring hail and strong thunderstorm wind most years, like the rest of northeast Tarrant County. Hail leaves bruised and cracked shingles and dented metal that are hard to see from the ground. Wind lifts edges and breaks seal strips. Both are worth documenting promptly.
We inspect free, photograph every slope with dates, and check the attic for water that has already gotten in. If the damage supports a claim, our storm damage team meets the adjuster on the roof. Our insurance claims page explains what we do on a claim and what we do not, including that we never waive deductibles.
