Was Your North Dallas Home Or Property Damaged By The October 2019 North Texas Tornadoes?
On the night of October 20, 2019, a line of severe storms produced several tornadoes across North Texas. The strongest was rated EF3 by the National Weather Service, with estimated peak winds of 140 mph. It formed in northwest Dallas near State Highway 348 and Luna Road, crossed North Dallas and Preston Hollow between Walnut Hill Lane and Royal Lane, and continued into Richardson before lifting about 3 miles east of the city. Its path ran about 15.75 miles and was up to 1,300 yards wide.
The same storms produced an EF2 tornado in Garland, with winds estimated at 135 mph, and an EF1 that tracked through Rowlett and Sachse with winds near 100 mph, according to the NWS Fort Worth survey statement. Weaker tornadoes touched down in Ellis, Rockwall, Kaufman and Van Zandt counties.
On October 21, Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued a disaster declaration for 16 counties, including Dallas, Collin, Tarrant, Rockwall, Kaufman and Ellis. Homes, apartments, shopping centers and a fire station along the Dallas path were damaged or destroyed, and the Insurance Council of Texas called it one of the costliest tornado events in the state's history.
If a storm has damaged your property

We handle storm damage repair and help you through the insurance claim, and we meet the adjuster on the roof so the damage is recorded rather than assessed from the driveway. For recent storms in our area, see our storm updates.
